Global Issues Conference: Climate Change and National/Global Security
The UCF Global Perspectives Office, in a partnership with the National Conference of Editorial Writers (NCEW) and the Global Connections Foundation, is pleased to announce an annual global issues conference at the University of Central Florida on Thursday, November 5, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The title of the conference is “Climate Change and National/Global Security,” and the linkage between climate change and security will be discussed and debated by a series of experts.
Among the invited speakers are James J. Carafano, Director, Douglas and Sarah Allison Center for Foreign Policy Studies, The Heritage Foundation; Vice Admiral (Ret.) Lee Gunn, President, American Security Project; Joan Johnson-Freese, Chair, National Security Decision Making Department, U.S. Naval War College; Janet Larsen, Director of Research, Earth Policy Institute; and William Powers, Senior Fellow, World Policy Institute.
This conference is open to the public (advance registration and fee required). Those wishing to attend must fill out the attached registration form and return it to the Global Perspectives Office. Please find the conference brochure and registration form attached.
