Australia

Australia is a continent of remarkable geology, plants and animals, and history. Initially formed as a penal colony by the United Kingdom over 200 years ago, Australia has since developed an increasingly diverse culture. The distinct landscape and history of Australia have helped shape Australian art, literature, and language since the first Australian natives arrived over 40,000 years ago. Sports are also an important focus for the citizens of this growing nation; from surfing and swimming to football and cricket, nearly one in four Australians participates in organized sports.
Australia is an amazing place to visit or study for a week or a semester. The natural beauty and distinct heritage provide a context for learning unlike any other. Australia’s architecturemusic, dance, cinema, and cuisine create an impressive cultural experience. UCF has had several study abroad programs in Australia and neighboring New Zealand.
